PEAR, DIFFERENTLY

(music)

dir. Piotr Bartos, produced by MANIFIESTA film (2023)

The film is a documentary story about childhood and its fundamental importance. It follows the story of Inka, a little girl whose first seven years of life become a pretext for reflecting on how the basic structures of personality and cognition are formed. It is a time when emotions, relationships, sensitivity and a way of seeing the world take shape — everything that later resonates throughout an entire life.

It is also a portrait of a multigenerational family in which Inka acts as a binding force. Her presence, joy and energy connect the household, creating a tender story about closeness, growing up and love inscribed in everyday gestures.

The music, which I co‑created with Konrad Imiela, is based on delicate compositions for toy glockenspiel and my voice. Subtle, fragile sounds follow the emotions of the protagonists, creating an intimate space — as if the music were trying to capture what is most fleeting in childhood: wonder, uncertainty, the experience of discovering the world for the first time.
